Ichiro Suzuki (The Wizard)

Outfielder Ichiro Suzuki was traded last week to the New York Yankees. Below I will make some comments about the career in the United States of this extraordinary baseball player ...
Ichiro came to the majors at 30 years of age in 2001, signed by the Seattle Mariners, becoming  the first Asian to arrive in the majors as a position player.
He came with great credentials, as his numbers in Japanese baseball were really impressive, and he didn't disappoint anyone.

This right fielder has a very strong arm and has shown it countless times when we've seen him put out runners at 3rd base, one of the most striking plays in baseball ...

His running speed is also above the average
, and it makes him a difficult out in any situation, specially when he lays down a bunt, it's spectacular to see him run to first base.

There's no doubt best Suzuki's feature are his hitting skills ...
He is a master, he knows the strike zone like few others, and manages the bat as noone, he can make contact with almost any kind of pitch that is within or outside the zone, he has quick hands so that fastballs do not pass him easily, and also has a good pitch recognition, all this together along with a great mental strength helps him in any situation.

This "Mr. Hitter" has 2540 career hits in 11 years of service in MLB, and it would not be crazy to think he ould reach 3000

The man is a potential Hall of Famer, the fact that he had 10 consecutive seasons with 200 hits, coupled with a possible 3000 hit career, makes him strong candidate to be among the immortals of baseball.

Last week Suzuki was traded from Seattle to the NYY, this is the last year of a contract of 5 he had signed with the Mariners, we will have to wait and see if the Yankees offer him a deal at the end of this season, would he accept ? ...

The truth is that since he became a Yankee, the Japanese player have connected at least one hit in every game, injecting fuel to an offense that by nature is "destructive" ...

We will be expecting and see what happens the rest, and in the end of the season with the only baseball player I've seen using his first name on his back instead of his last name
