Off-season

We have just seen a 7 game world series between the AL west champion and NL wild card.
It was a good one, they offered us a series with ups and downs, with great plays and horrible plays, full of strategy, and heroes people did not see coming. All those things when mixed make beasball the best sport

Congratulations St. Louis Cardinals.

Now the off-season has begun, the winter is around the corner in the US, and fans from all around the world are making movements in their minds, the movements they think are the most convenient for their teams, they are making trades, contract extensions and also signing and releasing players. All those things are valid, but everybody will be turning to the newspaper, TV, and internet to know how the real negotiations are going, we will have to wait until the spring to know  the results, to know the new rosters, and the destiny of our favorite players.

Albert Pujols is the most wanted free agent at this moment, and we are all waiting for his desicion, "where is he going to play in years to come...?

Some of us will watch and get involved in Latin American Baseball, which by the way is Great! some other rather watch the NFL, the NBA is gone for now but everybody wishes it comes back as soon as posible...

anyway it's time for MLB players to rest, well... for some of them because we're gonna see a few playing winter baseball this year.

Little League Baseball, Little League World Series

This time of the year kids and teenagers are on vacations, so this is the perfect time to go and play some sports international competitions for them.

Little League is the most important organization for the development of baseball players around the world.
Im gonna quote their Mission:

""Little League Baseball, Incorporated is a non-profit organization whose mission is to "to promote, develop, supervise, and voluntarily assist in all lawful ways, the interest of those who will participate in Little League Baseball and Softball."
Through proper guidance and exemplary leadership, the Little League program assists youth in developing the qualities of citizenship, discipline, teamwork and physical well-being. By espousing the virtues of character, courage and loyalty, the Little League Baseball and Softball program is designed to develop superior citizens rather than superior athletes.
Founded in 1939; granted Federal Charter July 16, 1964, by unanimous act of the Senate and House of Representatives of the Congress of the United States of America and signed by President Lyndon B. Johnson as Public Law 88-378, 88th Congress H.R. 9234, and amended December 26, 1974, Public Law 93-551, 93rd Congress, H.R. 8864. Little League is tax exempt. "" - Taken from LittleLeague.org -

They also have a Softball division but we are not going to to go on that subject this time.

This philosophy has spread all around the world, and Little League exists in several coutries, helping to develop good players and better citizens.

This summer in the US, the 65th Little League adn Big League World Series is being played, by kids adn teenagers from different countries and cultures, they are having the best experience of their lives so far...
This is Baseball at its purest expression!
Kids of all ages (the oldest are 18) playing baseball to the highest level, , showing pride, courage and character, like the best MLB player... and they are not being paid at all.

I am proud to say that I played LitteLeagueBaseball in my country (Venezuela) when I was younger.

So watching the LLWS takes me back and bring me so many memories...

Espn is broadcasting this years LLWS as they do every years, if you have a chance to watch it I highly recommend it, you could be watching the raise of future's Major Leaguers
